Annabel Mehran photographs musician Joanna Newsom for her new album, “Divers”

Annabel Mehran has been photographing Joanna Newsom, the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter-harpist, for a number of years now. Their collaborations have produced images ranging from casual and candid to fashion-y, theatrical, and fantastical. For Newsom’s highly anticipated new album, Divers, Annabel once again turned her lens on the idiosyncratic musician. Below, some of our favorite portraits from the shoot.
