Nadav Kander shoots portraits and directs film for Britain’s MOBO Awards

For this year’s MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards, Nadav Kander photographed a series of portraits and directed a short film for AMV BBDO promoting MOBO’s “Rise With Us” movement.

“MOBO was founded in 1996 by Kanya King as a way of giving new and emerging artists a platform to showcase their talent and celebrate their achievements,” Little Black Book Online explained in an article on the film. “The MOBO Movement launched in April, and MOBO approached AMV BBDO to help define the strategy and develop a campaign.”

“‘Rise With Us’ is a rallying cry,” program director Emma Harris tells LBBonline.com. “A call to action to the nation, from all those who are already part of MOBO’s movement. It works on every level; invites everyone to join in helping talented people from diverse backgrounds to rise from undiscovered to revered and to inspire future generations.”
