You might not know her name just yet, but comedian and actress Noël Wells is one of comedy’s bright new lights. She spent a season as a featured player on Saturday Night Live and now costars opposite comedian Aziz Ansari on his acclaimed new Netflix original series, Master of None. “Critics say that Ms. Wells…is the coolest, funniest thing going  in the year’s best new comedy,” said The New York Times in a recent feature on Wells.

Brinson+Banks photographed Wells for the Times interview, a shoot that took place in the Hollywood Hills apartment of Flint Wainess, Wells’ boyfriend and her writing partner on the upcoming Comedy Central pilot Bad Couple.

“During our shoot, Noël was kind, humble, and generally fantastic to work with,” raves David Walter Banks. “She also had the uncanny ability to jump from a brutally honest emotive look to a ridiculous pose, making us all laugh in a transition only a truly talented actress could pull off. And, whether it was true or not, she and friend/stylist told me my curls inspired her look!”
