Brinson+Banks recently photographed Chelsea Handler for a New York Times about her new Netflix show, Chelsea, at her gorgeous home in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles and in her office on the Sony Pictures studio lot.

“Our first interaction with her was in the morning, before we documented her getting ready for the day,” Kendrick Brinson explains. “We were waiting with the reporter in a side living room and she walked past us, not realizing we’d already arrived, glanced at David and said to him dryly, ‘Hello, bearded man,’ and kept walking. Later, she told us we both looked like we were from the ’70s, which was funny and true—I was wearing bell bottoms, and David has long hair and was wearing a leather vest.”

“It was a treat getting to spend time with Chelsea over two days because she is just as hilarious and observant as she is on television, and her sense of humor doesn’t turn off when she’s not performing,” says Kendrick. “We also got to meet her two chows, Chunk and Tammy, who she adores and brings to the office with her.”
