Call for entries: Latin American Fotografía 5

The deadline for entering your work in Latin American Fotografía 5 is fast approaching. June 3 is the last date to submit your work to the competition, which will be judged by an international jury of top creatives who commission illustration and photography for use in magazines, advertising, books, posters, packaging, promotion, and video. Unpublished, fine art, and student work is also eligible.

This year’s jury is an impressive one: Miriam Romais, director/editor, EnFoco, Brazil/USA;
Edward Hayes, curator, Museum of Latin American Art, Los Angeles; Rodrigo Fino, president, Latin America, Garcia Media Latinoamerica, Argentina; Paula Kupfer, photo editor, USA; Thea Traff, associate photo editor, The New Yorker; and Jaime B.Wellford, editorial director, VisuraUSA.

The collection of winning LAF/LAI 5 images will be presented at the annual AI-AP launch party in New York City in November 2016—a major networking event that brings photographers, illustrators, and creatives together.

The winning Latin American Fotografía collection will also be included in AI-AP’s BIG TALK Symposium in New York City on November 2 and will be featured in an international traveling exhibit produced by Epson. In addition to being on view at The Party in New York, the show will also travel to Casatinta, Bogotá; Molaa, Museum of Latin American Art, Los Angeles; Motivarte, Buenos Aires; and Photoville, Brooklyn.

The competition is open to Latin American citizens, regardless of where they are currently based, including citizens of Spain and Portugal and all Spanish/Portuguese-speaking countries; anyone living or studying in Latin America, regardless of nationality; anyone with Latin American clients or projects, regardless of nationality; and all images with Latin American subject matter by anyone, regardless of nationality. Work must have been created or published between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2015, for both print and digital media. Work created in 2015 for publication in 2016 is acceptable. All images in an ongoing project that started earlier and continued into 2016, whether published or not, are also acceptable.
