Highlights from three of Brinson+Banks’ latest “LA Woman” shoots

DJ, music producer, and event curator Soraya La Pread, Beverly Hills. “Soraya was born in New Zealand but now lives in Beverly Hills,” say Brinson+Banks. “She started playing piano at 7 and started breaking into her dad’s studio and making beats when she was 17 (her father is former Commodores bassist Ronald La Pread). She moved to Los Angeles to learn how to be a musical engineer and started taking production and songwriting seriously in 2010. Photo by Brinson+Banks.

She started piano lessons when she was 5, voice lessons when she was 9, and guitar lessons when she was 11. Pearl plays in an old-timey country band called the Driftwood Singers and a psychedelic surf-rock band called the Blank Tapes, and she’ll be releasing her debut full-length record this fall with the Father John Misty band backing her.” Photo by Brinson+Banks.
