Lauren Greenfield named a 2015 IMPACT25 Influencer, is depicted as a Marvel superhero
Director and photographer Lauren Greenfield—who won an Emmy for directing the acclaimed #LikeAGirl commercial for Always—has been named a 2015 Impact Influencer, joining the ranks of fellow honorees tennis star Serena Williams, UFC champ Ronda Rousey, ballet trailblazer Misty Copeland, and other powerful women on espnW’s list of influencers and athletes who made a difference this year.
Lauren “worked with Leo Burnett and the Always brand to create a memorable Super Bowl ad aimed at turning the phrase ‘like a girl’ into a power theme,” says espnW, which asked Marvel artists to portray the awesomeness of each honoree in classic comic-book superhero fashion. The slogan on Lauren’s illustration: “Shoot like a girl.”
“‘Like a girl’ should never be used as an insult,” Lauren tells espnW. “It means being strong, talented, and downright amazing.”
Go, Lauren!
